Billing is not wired — there is no subscription in MAKI yet, so there is nothing to click. This page exists because the old “Try Premium” button promised a product that did not exist and sent you to the OS instead. This is what it will be, at the price it will be. Nothing here is charged, and nothing is collected.
Because MAKI is not paying for the thinking. Remote runs the session on your computer. Code and Studio default to your own model keys. The expensive part of an AI product — the inference — is yours already, and it stays yours. What $5 buys is the bridge that reaches your machines, the sync that keeps them agreed, the orchestration, and the hosting. That is genuinely a $5 job, and pricing it like a $20 one would be charging you for a cost we do not have.
Everything below is one plan. There is no higher tier and no per-seat upsell.
Not a trial, not a teaser. The free account is how MAKI gets read and how the site gets indexed — putting a price on it would be working against ourselves.

Drafts sync between your own devices. When both are awake they talk to each other directly and nothing is stored here at all. When one is asleep, the draft waits in a queue on our server until the other device collects it — and the queue is built so that “temporary” is a fact about the system rather than a promise we are asking you to take on trust.

What we can still see. We can see that one of your devices sent something to another of your devices, when, and how many bytes it was. Connecting two devices directly also requires a short exchange that passes through us. We cannot see what you wrote. Saying “end-to-end encrypted” and stopping there would leave that unsaid, so it is said here.
The trade this involves. Because we hold no key, we cannot recover anything for you. If you lose every paired device, any draft still waiting in the queue is gone. Your local copy is the real one — the relay is how a draft travels, not where it is kept.
