A platform where a story and a set of tools are the same thing. MAKI is a character with a comic, and she is also the assistant that runs your agents, drives your computer, and helps you make comics, novels, art books and video. Understanding the lore is how the rest of it makes sense.
Because the lore is the product, not an advert for it. Onboarding is three chapters, running a node, and a conversation with MAKI. It is deliberate: the tools mean more once you know what they are part of. Nothing in it costs credits.

No. Credits are internal. If MAKI COIN launches, only credits you purchased could ever convert — earned credits stay inside the platform. That is enforced in code, not a policy statement. See MAKI COIN.
Only if you switch it on. Learning is off by default for every account. You turn it on from Remote or Code, and you can turn it off in the same places or from your account page. If it is off, nothing you do is recorded for training.
Your computer or phone contributing compute when it is idle, which earns CR. It is also the second onboarding step. Mobile and PC accrue at different rates.
Assistants you own. You can create one here from a starting persona, or import one you built elsewhere — its origin is recorded permanently rather than relabelled as if it started on MAKI. Agents learn, can be granted skills, and can be sold with their memory attached.
Yes — that is Remote. You run a small bridge on your machine and drive Claude Code or Codex from your phone. MAKI never uploads or clones your repository — the agent runs on your own machine, against your own files.
Your prompts and the agent's replies do pass through MAKI's relay to reach your phone. They are stored in plain text and deleted after 14 days. Since those replies often contain code, that is worth knowing before you paste something sensitive into a prompt.
Files you open are uploaded too. Asking to see a file sends that file to the relay so your phone can display it — it is stored on our server and deleted automatically (images after 30 minutes, video after 20, other files after 5 hours). The bridge only ever reads inside the one folder you point it at, and it never sends anything you did not ask for — but a file you do open has left your machine.
Subscribers are charged on your own Stripe account, so the money lands in your balance and MAKI never holds it. MAKI takes 5%, which Stripe splits off automatically. You verify your identity directly with Stripe.
Yes, at delete my account. Payment and credit-ledger records are kept for accounting and chargebacks, with your identity removed from them — that is stated plainly in the privacy policy rather than buried.
